This is the time of year that the nation begins to think of giving in earnest.  Giving gifts.  Giving family dinners.  Giving cards. Giving end of the year donations.  Giving our sanity over to a slew of parties and gatherings!  What if we are able to consider something even bigger? What about making a wish come true for a child with a life-threatening illness?Wish

I love that I’m going to be able to be a part of something like this as a sponsor of the Make A Wish Central and Northern Florida’s “Wedges for Wishes” Golf Tournament on 2/16/15.  According to their sponsorship brochure:

“The Suncoast Region of Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

The granting of a wish is an invaluable experience that inspires children who are undergoing or have undergone challenging medical treatments as well as their families, our volunteers, our supporters, and everyone who is touched by a wish. Driven by the child’s creativity, his or her one true wish also is a significant positive force that helps each child overcome great obstacles.”

The goal:

“The goal for the 6th Annual Wedges for Wishes golf tournament is to raise $80,000, enough money to provide 11+ heart-felt wishes for children in Tampa Bay who need an uplifting experience to carry them through a difficult time.

Since the Wedges for Wishes golf tournament’s inception, it has contributed to 40 wishes and has secured over $280,000. We would like your support to continue to make a positive impact on families who need the life-changing impact of a wish.”

May I challenge you to join me in granting wishes?  If the possibility interests you please check out this webpage for more information:
